No, you cannot claim the ESS rebate retrospectively.
Government rules require that all compliance and supporting documentation be captured by an ESS-Accredited Installer before, during and after the installation process.
The process is really simple:
Choose an installer: Discuss your air conditioning needs with National AC Rebates or a local, ESS-Accredited Installer.
Do your due diligence: Check insurances, warranties and inclusions.
Accept your Quote: The Installer will commence the process for both your installation and for the Energy Savings Scheme.
Sign the Nomination Form: You will be required to sign the Nomination Form that will commence the application process. The form states that you, as the homeowner / small business owner or authorised representative are intending to install an energy-efficient air conditioning system.
Installation Commences: The ESS-Accredited Installer will start the installation process and collate the required supporting documentation for the compliance verification.
Finalising the ESS Application: Once the installation has been completed, you will be required to sign the final Post-Installation form stating that the installation of the energy-efficient air conditioning system was completed.
Compliance Audit: Once all the forms and supporting documentation has been submitted, EC Focus will commence the compliance audit, ensuring all elements meet the energy savings scheme requirements for payment. This process can take up to 30 business days.
Payment Made: Upon the successful audit completion, National AC Rebates will issue the Digital Mastercard to the homeowner / small business owner, if this was agreed upon at the quoting stage.
Both the Nomination and Post Installation forms are signed digitally via your mobile phone or email.
A digital link, created by EC Focus, will be sent to you via SMS or email. Once signed, the signed copy of the form will be emailed to you for your records.
Your ESS-Accredited Installer may ask for a recent electricity bill for the following reasons;
Small Business Verification: We must confirm that your electricity usage falls under the small business threshold. If your usage exceeds this limit, you will not qualify for the program as a small business.
Meter Identification: If your National Meter Identifier (NMI) is not visible on your meter box, it can be found clearly stated on your electricity bill under your name and address.
